Worship with Lomax AME Zion This Sunday

I hope you will make plans to join in worship this Sunday. At the invitation of Pastor Nelson, our two communities will be in worship together, celebrating World Communion Sunday. Our liturgical celebrations are, as I frequently like to remind you, “the work of the people.” This Sunday, we have a marvelous opportunity to celebrate all the Holy Spirit has been up to since our relationship with Lomax began to flourish in 2020. I am full of joyful anticipation of all the “work” that the people might bring into our sanctuaries and offer to God—our thanksgivings, our longings, and our hopes for the ways in which we will continue to trust the Holy Spirit to inspire our commitment to build the Kingdom of God.

This week’s newsletter includes instructions as to who we hope will attend each service. These are recommendations, and an attempt to have parishioners from both congregations present at both services. If for some reason you need to attend the one you are not assigned to, please know that you are still most welcome. Both services will be available virtually. Finally, if you’ve not yet had the opportunity to meet our brothers and sisters from Lomax, please know you are most welcome. I’m certain you will not be disappointed to be in worship and kinship with these faithful individuals.
