Sacred Threads

On Thursday, July 18, 10 women from St. Michael’s and 8 women and 2 men from Lomax AME Zion ventured to Herndon to see the “Sacred Threads” exhibit. They were joined by artist Terry Peckarsky (seen at far right in the photo), who will be exhibiting at St. Michael’s in September. Brenda Cox of Lomax arranged for our comfortable van, and another Lomax parishioner made bags of snacks for everyone. After seeing the wonderful art quilts, the group lunched at the Amphora, where they took over a private dining room for several hours. The outing marked the second time the two groups traveled together to see a “Sacred Threads” exhibit, which features more than 200 quilts representing expressions of joy, spirituality, inspiration, grief, healing, and peace/brotherhood.
