Meet our New Seminarian: Hayden Paul
Hayden Paul graduated with a B.A. in Political Science with a Business minor, from Texas A&M University. In 2013, he began his career in the Texas Legislature, spending five years as a district representative working on higher education policy and considerable time on the road, learning about the diversity of Texas Senate District 5. After leaving the legislature, Hayden transitioned to become Vice President of Public Affairs and Government Relations for the regional economic development corporation of Bryan/College Station, TX. Finding the Episcopal church in the aftermath of the Obergefell vs. Hodges Supreme Court decision in 2015, Hayden was immediately called into lay leadership in his sending parish of St. Andrew’s—Bryan, TX serving as delegate to Diocesan convention, Vestry, and as Sr. Warden during 2020. These experiences helped him more clearly see the vision God laid in front of him and he discerned a call to the Priesthood later that same year. Hayden is beginning his second year at Virginia Theological Seminary where he is serving as the current Student Body Treasurer and is working with the Office of Lifelong Learning on their Mutual Ministry Initiative. In his free time, Hayden is reading the latest best seller with a glass of wine or cup of hot tea in his hand and is taking his labradoodle Truman on walks. He is thankful for this opportunity and is looking forward to meeting and serving alongside the people of St. Michael’s—Arlington.
