Maundy Thursday

My invitation for Maundy Thursday involves a bit of creativity on your part. At the heart of this day is Jesus’ invitation to servanthood, both in the sharing of the new Passover meal and the washing of the disciples’ feet. This year, I’ve included a prayer for the washing of hands, which has become a most holy and sacred thing during this time of the pandemic, as we work to protect others. I’ve also attached a recipe for bread that you are invited to break. I will record and post the audio for a sermon, along with the readings for the day. The hand washing prayer, bread recipe, and reflection question can all be found on the worship page of our website.

Additionally, we will have a live stream of the silent, empty sanctuary available for any who would like to keep vigil, as Jesus asked of his disciples in the garden, from Thursday at 8 PM until Friday at noon. You may “access” the sanctuary through our YouTube station.
