Icon Writing Workshop Offering in January
“Painting icons is a form of prayer.” ~ George Ziobro
The Arts & Faith Ministry is pleased to announce that local icon painter George Ziobro will be exhibiting his work during the month of January. As part of the exhibit, George will be conducting in our parish hall a three-day workshop and retreat for high-school-age students and adults. Participants will be taught how to create and paint (or “write”) an icon of their own and, in addition to learning about the history of icons and icon painters, will have time share their thoughts and reflections on the icon-writing process.
The workshop will begin on Friday, January 26, 2024, 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; continue on Saturday, January 27, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; and conclude on Sunday, January 28, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. George will provide all the materials needed for a $25 fee per person.
A minimum of four attendees is required for the workshop to take place. The maximum is 16. Please use this form sign up. Payment of the materials fee, by check payable to George, is required no later than December 10. (Information, including details on collection of the fee, will be provided once the registration period has ended.) The workshop will not be held if too few parishioners and guests register by November 30.
The exhibit will include an online presentation.
