'Beyond Boundaries' Exhibit Now Open

We welcome back the local artists’ collaborative, Studio 10 Artists, for a month-long exhibition of paintings titled “Beyond Boundaries.” Members of the group, whose nearly four dozen works hang in the parish hall, are Elisabeth (Beth) Hudgins, Kathleen (Kat) Jamieson, Linda Maldonado, Elise Ritter, and Deborah Taylor. Their earlier exhibits include “The Divine Feminine” and “Ambient Light,” both of which are in the Past Exhibits section of our website.

All five painters explore narrower themes related to the broader subject of boundaries. Beth Hudgins investigates “Breaking Through,” a series that visualizes physical, psychological, and metaphorical boundaries that hold us back or move us forward. Kat Jamieson employs “Horizon” as a means to creating “earthscapes” with climate change in mind. Linda Maldonado attempts “Finding Form in Space Without Shape” to show how perceptions can give rise to the unexpected. In her acrylic paintings and original photography on the theme “Pausing at the Threshold,” Elise Ritter crosses into those “thin spaces” between physical and mystical worlds. Finally, Deborah Taylor continues “Stretching Beyond” the confines of realism into abstraction.

In addition to viewing the show in person, parishioners and visitors can see the exhibition online. The digital presentation includes two sets of questions for self-study or group-discussion of boundaries.

Artworks in the exhibit, which concludes June 20, are available to purchase as indicated on the website.

Service Times

Sunday Eucharist at St. Michael's is a comprehensive service of both Word and Sacrament. We read from the Bible, we recite or sing a psalm, and we listen to a sermon. Then we pray for the Church and the world, and we ask God's forgiveness for our sins. Finally, we greet one another in the peace of Christ and move to the sacramental service of the Holy Communion.

At services of Holy Eucharist, all baptized persons are welcome to receive holy communion. We also offer blessings to those who for any reason are not able or not comfortable receiving this sacrament.Children are always welcome at the communion rail. Learn more about Episcopal Worship
