A note about Worship during the Season of Advent

As is our custom, you will see a few liturgical changes with the change in season. The Book of Common Prayer provides tremendous opportunity for liturgical expression, all of which may speak to us in unique ways depending on the season of the year, or our season of life. As a reminder, Advent is one of the contemplative seasons in the church calendar, which will set the tone for the next four Sundays. In particular, we will use Eucharistic Prayer D, which includes the Prayers of the People. Instead of singing the Psalm, it will be spoken for the next four Sundays. Additionally, we will continue to make space to reflect on our theme for the season in the form of our Pocket Practice, but these reflections will entail a few moments of silence during the service. As always, I welcome your questions and reflections about how you experience these liturgical changes.
