True Ground Housing Partners (formerly APAH) builds and owns rental housing that is affordable to Arlington’s low wage earners. St. Michael’s has supported True Ground’s resident services in many ways, including food distribution, event volunteering, and support of school age children (for example, providing new backpacks filled with school supplies).
Engagement Opportunities:
True Ground welcomes volunteers to work at their new Ballston food pantry which provides residents with weekly access to supplemental meet, eggs, milk, rice/pasta, and canned goods – reducing food insecurity for children and adults in vulnerable populations. Half-day shifts (morning or afternoon) are available Monday through Saturday.
More details on True Ground and opportunities to volunteer are at truegroundhousing.org
Other ways to get involved: During ShrineMont weekend in September, St. Michael’s bags apples for the Food Pantry. Individuals are welcome to volunteer at True Ground properties. Or, donate holiday gift cards.
