Studio 10 Artwork on Display at St. Michael’s
Studio 10 Artists are thrilled to be showing a new series of rotating art exhibitions at St Michael’s. The first show begins Holy Week and is hung in the main hallway of the church, so that it may be viewed by all before entering the sanctuary.
A fitting inspiration for the exhibition is “Luminous Grace.” Themes include nature, abstraction, and spiritual renditions of angels and saints. Paintings may be rotated on a quarterly schedule; some are for sale and others have been donated to the church.
Studio 10 Artists is a creative collaborative made up of award-winning Arlington artists Elisabeth Hudgins, Kat Jamieson, Linda Maldonado, Elise Ritter, and Deborah Taylor. All exhibit their paintings at Sterling Framing & Gallery, in Cherrydale, and are members of the Arlington Artists Alliance.
This Studio 10 Exhibition is part of the ongoing Arts and Faith ministry, created by Rev. Beth Franklin and curator Maureen Doallas.
Maureen has produced meaningful and evocative exhibitions online and on-site at St Michael’s for several years. Some of the themes were: “Mary, Mary; Artists interpret the Stations of the Cross”; “Artists and Poets Respond to the Pandemic”; and “Portraits of the Homeless”. Studio 10 Artists previously presented “Ambient Light” and “The Divine Feminine” through St. Michael’s Arts and Faith ministry.
In addition, the Arlington Artists Alliance Academy is starting to offer art classes at St Michael’s—the first of which is Watercolor Painting, by renowned artist/teacher Tony Neville.
