Outreach Opportunity: Help Plant a Garden for Our PathForward Neighbors

Volunteers Needed on May 14

Please join us to cultivate, plant and mulch several raised bed gardens for PathForward neighbors on May 14 from 10 AM–12 noon at Sibert House (1124 N. Kennebec St.). We need 10–12 volunteers to engage and help residents with:
  • Digging the raised beds (bring your own tools)
  • Buying vegetables and flowers and bringing them to the site (that residents have requested)
  • Bringing and spreading mulch.
Last year the raised beds and gardens helped to make this community a home for the 12 residents who live there. PathForward, formerly known as A-SPAN, helped 159 individuals in 2021 who were homeless in Arlington to live in permanent housing. Using the “housing first model” individuals move into their own homes and are supported by counseling and other services.

To volunteer, contact Linda Kelleher (or 703-346-9808) so that we can coordinate our activity! We hope to see St. Michael’s members and families on May 14.
