More Challenges and Opportunities at the Rectory

Construction began this week at the rectory, and unfortunately during the initial demolition, numerous additional problems have been discovered. Much of the renovation that was done in the 1980’s was not done to building code, and has resulted in additional structural damage. Repairing the faulty structural, masonry, framing and plumbing work has expanded the scope, cost and time needed to accomplish the renovations. We are grateful to be working with a contractor who has been able to pivot quickly and address some of the underlying issues that must be resolved. Unfortunately, this means that Beth and Nic will be inconvenienced longer than we had anticipated. The silver lining is that we are in the process of dealing with an array of underlying issues that have been problematic over the years and previously remedied with a series of short-term and inadequate fixes. More updates to follow as the project progresses.
