Making Masks for Children
Are you wanting to do something tangible to help others cope with our new lifestyle? Can you sew? Children ages 10 and up are going to need masks, and the children living in Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) housing could use help in obtaining them. St. Michael’s has developed a supportive relationship with our neighbors in APAH’s Fisher House apartments. Might you be willing to make masks for the children who live there? They need 10 masks for each of the following age groups: 5-8, 9-12, and 13+. (Having two or more is nice so you are not lacking when one is in the wash.)
Terry Dinan and Helen Hines have made masks for children that were donated to Doorways and have graciously consented to being contacts for questions on mask construction and have some supplies to share. Contact Terry (703-350-9175) or Helen (703-801-5903) to learn more. If you need a pattern, here is a simple one. Just one mask can have exponential saving power. Thank you.
