Fall Picnic for Path Forward Neighbors
St. Michael’s outreach volunteers served lunch on Sunday afternoon to Path Forward residents at Sibert House (located a few blocks from church on N. Kennebec St.). Some residents joined us on the patio and later showed us the bounty of their gardens that we had helped to plan in March. Others were grateful for the plates of chicken, biscuits, salads and dessert that they were able to enjoy in their apartments. Sibert House and a nearby APAH apartment building provide long-term housing and supportive services for 20 neighbors coming out of homelessness. Although homelessness in our community has been declining through County partnerships with nonprofits such as Path Forward, Arlington is launching a renewed effort to end homelessness for all by 2026. The Outreach Committee will be offering monthly and special event volunteer opportunities with Path Forward in 2023.
