The group of seasoned citizens known as XYZ holds luncheons and programs held every other month, generally on the first Thursday of the month.
Each XYZ meeting features interesting topics and varied events. Recent programs included instruction on navigating by the stars, an update on the search for life on other planets, a video lecture by a biblical scholar presenting a new view of Pontius Pilate, a first-hand view of life in Kenya from the parishioner wife of an AID foreign service officer, a visit from storyteller Arlene Casimiro, parish administrator David Bell discussing and playing the bassoon, and a picnic at the home of Jane and Ken Cook complete with door prizes.
You do not have to be a senior citizen to attend these luncheons. All adults are invited. Bring a covered dish to share with others and enjoy the program. We can usually arrange transportation for those who need it. We are always looking for people willing to speak on a subject of their choice. To volunteer or get more information, contact Ken Cook at xyzcontact@stmichaelsarlington.org.
