In addition to supporting overseas mission activities through the Diocese of Virginia's mission work, St. Michael's parishioners are directly engaged in several outreach and mission programs around the world.
Sponsored Children We sponsor 5 children through ChildFund (formerly the Christian Children’s Fund). Each child receives funds for schooling, other basic needs, and a gift for Christmas and their birthdays. Information for writing to the children can be found near the Mission and Outreach bulletin board in the Parish Hall.
Overseas Missionaries We have established a prayer and financial partnership with two missionary families: John and Susan Holst, missionaries with Palestinian Christians in Israel, and Russ and Heidi Smith and their family (pictured right), who are Society of Anglican Missionaries and Senders (SAMS-USA) missionaries in Chile. Prayer letters from both families are featured in The Guardian whenever news is received.
Sudan Relief Our ongoing concern for those in the Sudan has continued with our participation in a project with Solar Cookers International to provide solar cookers to families in Darfur.
